A Los Angeles native, Roma spent her formative years between the Foothills of Los Angeles County and Boyle Heights in East LA. She graduated from UC Irvine with degrees in Philosophy and English Literature and went on to complete Masters coursework at Cal State Long Beach’s German Studies program. She has been awarded numerous academic awards including the Fulbright Research Grant, which took her to Germany for a year of research at the Husserl Archives at the University of Cologne’s Philosophy department. Upon her return to the states in 2011, she moved back to Los Angeles where she taught herself how to concoct chocolates and confections. In LA she and her partner also gave birth to their delightful kid, Hiëronymus. Just one year after her return to LA, she again packed her bags this time for Houston, Texas. Fall 2012 was the start of her doctoral studies in Philosophy at Rice University.
So for now, Roma releases seasonal batches of her handcrafted confections while attending to philosophical inquiry and her family.
